Rocket StageTwo Add-Ons

3.1.1 - What add-ons were available for the StageTwo Rockets?

There is very little information about the daughtercard add-ons for the StageTwo Rocket available. RadiusVintage even manages to contradict itself somewhat by mentioning two apparently different cards with the same model number. As it appears now, the StageTwo had two optional daughtercards - one SCSI-2 card, and one that combined the functions of a PhotoBooster and SCSI-2 card. I have separated the two cards here because I trust the pictures more than RadiusVintage's description. Back to FAQ Index

3.1.2 - What is the SCSI-II daughtercard?

The SCSI-II daughtercard for StageTwo Rockets allowed a StageTwo Rocket to have a SCSI hard disk attached to it, giving the Rocket complete control over the disk via its external HD-50 SCSI connector.

RadiusVintage's pictures of this card, which neither b.b. nor I has ever seen, do not show any DSPs, as the next question seems to indicate should be there. If you can clarify this situation, let me know. Back to FAQ Index

3.1.3 - What is the StageTwo Rocket PhotoBooster?

The StageTwo Rocket PhotoBooster allowed a StageTwo Rocket to have a SCSI hard disk attached to it, giving the Rocket complete control over the disk via its external HD-50 SCSI connector AND contained two AT&T 3210 DSPs, running at 66MHz, to accelerate Photoshop functions in Photoshop 2.5-4.0. For more information about the PhotoBooster accelerator, check out this RadiusVintage Q&A document.

RadiusVintage's pictures of this model number card (listed as part #0434), which neither b.b. nor I has ever seen, do not show any DSPs. If you can clarify this situation, let me know. Back to FAQ Index
